What is the broadcasting fee (GEZ)? Do I have to pay it?

The broadcasting fee is the fee that is charged for the use of public broadcasting.

The fee was increased to 18.36 Euro effective 07/20/2021.

For citizens over 18 years of age, the following applies: one apartment = one fee.

Can I be exempted from the broadcasting fee?
