It is no problem that the double apartments are occupied only by one person.

The double apartment is ideal for one or two (life partner only). If you live in a double apartment alone, you will pay the standard monthly cost. However, double occupancy will incur an additional fee & conditions:
Please note that the tenancy agreement is issued only in the name of the main tenant. We are unable to provide any additional documentation for the local registration authority

If another person will be living in the apartment (double occupancy), it is the main tenant's responsibility to confirm to the municipality that you reside together and share the accommodation. Once this confirmation has been provided, both occupants can register their residence at the apartment address.
 

THE FIZZ Utrecht:  in case of double occupancy, 50% of the service costs utilities and 100% of the community fee. Please give notice to the booking team during your booking if the double apartment will be occupied by one person or two persons.  The main tenant must provide proof of current student enrolment.

THE FIZZ Leiden: With long-stay tenancy agreements and double occupancy, the price stays the same, no matter if it's double or single occupancy. The main tenant must provide proof of current student enrolment. Please inform the letting team during your booking if the double apartment will be occupied by one person or two persons.  

With a short-stay contract and double occupancy, the service costs utilities, service costs general and furniture fee increase by +50%.
