What does the deposit cover?

The deposit (usually 3x the cold rent and paid before move-in) serves as security for the landlord. It may be used to cover any unpaid rent after move-out, damage to the apartment, or missing items. After you move out, the deposit is refunded in full if there are no outstanding payments or defects in the apartment. The deposit return usually takes 10-12 weeks after the accommodation agreement is finished.
 

Usually the mandatory move-out cleaning fee in the amount of 3000CZK / 140€ is deducted from the deposit if not agreed differently during the move-out.
